Salat

9-Salaat.fw

This is the reason why we were created: – to worship Allah.

What is worship you ask? deep meaning is reading about, learning and following Allah’s commands. Holy Prophet (sa) as you may already know was the one who brought us the message Allah. He explained in great detail all the commandments of Islam. But guess what, he didn’t just tell us to do something. He was the first one to act on and practice these teachings. So, now you briefly know why Salat is so important. When something is so amazing that it was ordered by Allah, brought by the Prophet Muhammad, written about in the Quran and acted on by Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa), Promised Messiah and all Khulafa, imagine the blessing, the awesomeness, the spirituality the love you will feel when you read Salat purely for the sake of Allah.

Before you become a full fledged worshiper, you’ll need to learn how to perform it and here are some resources for you:

For Atfal

Do you know Salat (Namaz) is the 🔑 to Paradise! Our Allah – The Creator of all of us, our parents and the world around us wants us to worship him, pray to him, ask him for anything we need from him. If you need an XBOX, a new pair of shoes, a toy…. you ask your parents. Same way, Allah has told us that we should ask everything from Him and the best way to ask is during Salat. But why not ask Allah for the best thing anyone can ever imagine? We can even pray to Allah to give us His love, that He’s pleased with us and our hearts are filled with love and his remembrance, so next time you need anything, you go ahead and do in your Salat first before even asking your parents.

Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) once said, “”Ask God for everything, even a shoelace; for should He not wish success, to nothing will you have access.”

Do you want to know a Secret?

do you really want to know the secret to having your prayers accepted? then pray for like this in Salat. If such and such toy/or thing is good for me then bless me in it, and if You know that it’s harmful to me In my religion and subsistence and in the next life, then keep it away from me and let me be away from it. And make for me whatever is good for me, And make me satisfied with it.

For Parents

Hazrat Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As RA narrated that Nabi Muhammad SAW said, “Command your children to make Salat when they become seven years old, and spank them for it (Salat) when they become nine years old, and arrange their beds (to sleep) separately.” (Abu Dawud). Of course, this of  has to be within reason but most importantly what children really learn from is our own example. Be better worshipers and our children will automatically start picking it up and you don’t have to stress upon it too much.

Salat is such a great form of Ibadah, a child must be exposed to the beauty of Salat from a young age even when he doesn’t understand it. Many parents are under the impression that children should begin learning how to perform Salat at the age of seven. But informal instruction in Salat should begin when a child is at least two years old or even younger, when they are visually aware of what takes place around them.

  • Know that you will be asked how you raised your children. As a parent, you will not be known how much money you left for your family but your legacy are your children, their behavior and how they were raised.
  • You are the role model for your children as they imitate you, they learn from you.
    • If you don’t go to Mosque/Salat Center, likelihood of them going is low.
    • If you don’t offer Salat on time, likelihood of them offering on time is very low.
    • If you keep watching TV, while it’s a Salat time, likelihood of them keep watching when they grow up is very high.
    • If you don’t get up for Fajr, likelihood of them offering Fajr is very low.
  • Take them:
    • Take them with you when you go to Namaz. Start at an early age so they get to know the environment
    • Stay after salat for few minutes to meet brothers and allow Atfal do the same
    • If you can’t go, ask a neighbor, a friend, local qaid or a grandparent etc….
