Holy Quran

9-quran

One of the 9 Habits is reciting Holy Quran daily or as much as you can. The Holy Quran is a compilation of the verbal revelations given to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) over a period of twenty three years. The Holy Quran is the Holy Book or the Scriptures of the Muslims. It lays down for them the law and commandments, codes for their social and moral behavior, and contains a comprehensive religious philosophy.

For Atfal

Allah says in Holy Quran, “Verily, We Ourselves have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian” (Al-Hijr, 15:10)

This verse of the Holy Quran promises that its text has been safe-guarded in its original form by a divine plan for all times to come. This means that the Holy Quran has important knowledge, wisdom and guidance for all of us.

Learning to read Holy Quran is the first step in opening the treasures Quran contains in it.

  • If you have not finished the first reading of Quran, then make a plan with your parents. Write a letter to Huzur. Ideally, we like to see Atfal finish the first reading before they turn 8.
  • If you need help, reach out to us or ask local Jamaat Taleem-ulQuran secretary.
  • If you already know how to recite, lets focus on these things:
    • Recite Daily! – best time to recite is after Fajr prayers
    • Sign-up for DRC & get a medal from us – Sign-up Now
    • Memorize Quran – Look at your syllabus to start with
    • Start a memorization competition with a sibling

For Parents

Holy Prophet (saw) said, “The best amongst you is he who learns the Quran and teaches it.”

As a parents, we need to find a way to start teaching our children Holy Quran at an early age. Encourage them and also set a goal. Jamaat Ahmadiyya USA Taleem-ul-Quran department has a means and resources to help as well.

  • My son has NOT finished the first reading of Quran:
    • Let’s make a plan for that. Talk to your spouse, your son and make a hard deadline. If you can afford, may be set a gift for him for the Ameen
    • Seek help. There is no harm in. Look under resources for the online resources, Jamaat Alfurqan classes as well as one-on-one Skype classes from Pakistan.
  • My son has finished the first reading:
    • Start with your own example. If you read Holy Quran daily, your son(s) will as well.
    • Whenever you are reading, have them sit next to you and then have them recite.
    • Encourage them – children needs a lot of encouragement. Even when they say one word correctly or memorize one Ayat, give them a pat on the back.
    • Set a time of the day when they can recite on a regular basis. May be just before they do their homework.
    • Make sure your son has signed up for DRC. We will also reward Atfal who signup and continue with their membership.
